About This Course

Accelerated Academy’s 10-week hybrid dental assisting program combines the flexibility of online learning with essential hands-on training. Students complete ten online modules and assignments at their own pace, within a set timeframe, while attending one four-hour, in-person clinical session each week for personalized instruction from experienced dental assisting instructors. Multiple clinical session options may be available depending on location, ensuring greater flexibility. This 80-hour program provides a well-rounded, accessible, and convenient path to launching a career in dental assisting.

Students will be able to create their own unique payment plan during the online enrollment process. 
 
The remainder of the tuition balance can be scheduled in weekly or bi-weekly payments. All payment plans are designed to pay off tuition completely by the last day of class.

    • Dr. Burchfield graduated from University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston in 2004.

Crowns & Custom Restorative Procedures
In-Person Session 6: Advanced Skills: Restorative Fabrications, & Radiography Practice

Online Module 7:
Types of Dentistry
In-Person Session 7: Root Canal Procedures, Patient Care Techniques, Radiographic & Impression Proficiency

Online Module 8:
Advanced Dental Procedures
In-Person Session 8: Oral Surgery, Prosthetics & Radiography Techniques

Online Module 9:
Dental Office Basics
In-Person Session 9: Patient Management, Instrument ID & Documentation

Entrance Requirements

Age Requirement:
Must be 17 years of age or older.
Educational Requirement:
Students must have successfully completed high school or have completed a high school equivalency course and provide one of the following at the time of enrollment:

  • Copy of High School Diploma
  • Copy of General Educational Development (GED)
  • Copy of High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)
This course is offered in English and due to the accelerated pace of this course, students must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.

 
Additional Texas Enrollment Requirement:
  • Students must complete the forms provided by the Admissions Representative, csc-005 and csc-010, at the time of enrollment.
  •  School tours are conducted prior to the start of class 1. 
  •  Students must have an entrance interview with an Admissions Representative prior to enrollment or within 14 days of enrollment. If they don’t meet the entrance requirements, Accelerated Academy has the right to terminate them and issue the appropriate refund. 

Technology requirement: 
Students are required to have a working computer and reliable internet access, and should have basic operating knowledge of a computer. The lecture portion of this course is taught online through the Learning Managements Software, Canvas. Students will review online modules, lectures, course material, and complete all assignments in Canvas. Students have access to all academic records including grades, progress, transcripts, and if successful in the program, their certificate of completion.
Clinical Session Materials:
Students are required to bring either a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to EVERY clinical session in order to complete the weekly clinical session skill check assignment. If the student would like to take any additional notes during a clinical session, they are encouraged to bring a folder, notepad, pen, pencil, or other materials to support the in-person learning experience. 
Previous Education:  
No credit will be given for previous education or transferred to another institution from Accelerated Academy.
Criminal History:
Criminal history may affect a student’s ability to be hired in the dental field as every employer has different requirements. Accelerated Academy has the right to refuse enrollment due to criminal history.  Also, in Texas, to apply to be a Registered Dental Assistant, fingerprints will be required.
