About This Course

We believe you should be able to have a meaningful career without the extensive time commitment typically associated with other educational programs. With this in mind, classes are held on Saturdays so you can balance work obligations while attending the course. You’ll be job-ready in as little as 10 weeks!

After successful completion of the course, you will meet all the requirements to work as a dental assistant within your state. 
This includes:

  • Entry Level Dental Assisting with Expanded Functions with Radiology Certificate of Completion
  • CPR/BLS Certificate

Payment Methods

Option 1 - Pay in Full
Total tuition payment due at the time of registration.
 
Option 2 - Payment Plans
Students will be able to create their own unique payment plan during the online enrollment process. 
 
A $200 deposit is required at the time of enrollment. This $200 will reserve your seat in the course and will be deducted from the total tuition cost.
 
The remainder of the tuition balance can be scheduled in weekly or bi-weekly payments. All payment plans are designed to pay off tuition completely by the last day of class.

Class Schedule Classes happen weekly on Saturdays at 8AM.

Class 1: Introduction to Dental Assisting, Sterilization, and CPR/BLS
Class 2: Radiology
Class 3: Impressions
Class 4: Four-handed Dentistry, Fillings, and X-Ray Exam
Class 5: Crown and Bridge
Class 6: Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, and Pedodontics; Midterm exam and Xray Practical Exam
Class 7: Oral Surgery Implants, Partials, and Dentures
Class 8: Office Mgmt, OSHA, and State Guidelines; Seating a Patient and Charting
Class 9:  Clinic Day
Class 10:
Clinic, Final Written and Practical Exam, Identification Exam

Entrance Requirements

 
The following requirements are necessary to enroll in the dental assisting course offered by Accelerated Academy:

Age Requirement:
  • A person must be 17 years of age or older.

Educational Requirement: 
A person must have successfully completed high school or have completed a high school equivalency course and provide one of the following at the time of enrollment*:
  • Copy of High School Diploma or Official High School Transcript
  • Copy of General Educational Development (GED)
  • Copy of High School Equivalency Test (HiSET)
OR:
  • The Wonderlic Basic Skills Test may be used as an alternative to a high school diploma or equivalent for program admission. 
    • During the enrollment process, interested students will receive an exam invitation along with detailed instructions. To qualify for admission, students must achieve a score recognized as meeting GED (General Educational Development) standards: 303 Verbal and 294 Quantitative.
    • If the required score is not achieved, admission will be denied. The exam must be completed within 14 days of receiving the invitation. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the cancellation of enrollment, and all fees paid will be refunded.
 *Students must provide the required proof of education within 14 days or Accelerated Academy will terminate the student’s enrollments (refund policy applies).

Educational Requirement for High School Seniors:
High School Seniors may attend the course prior to graduation if they meet the following standards:
  • Must be scheduled to receive his/her high school diploma within six (6) months of the course end date.
  • A letter must be submitted by the student’s high school counselor or administrator verifying the student’s enrollment and anticipated graduation date.

Technology requirement: 
Students are required to have a working computer and reliable internet access, and should have basic operating knowledge of a computer. The lecture portion of this course is taught online through the Learning Managements Software, Canvas. Students will review online modules, lectures, course material, and complete all assignments in Canvas. Students have access to all academic records including grades, progress, transcripts, and if successful in the program, their certificate of completion.
Clinical Session Materials:
Students are required to bring either a laptop, tablet, or smartphone to EVERY clinical session in order to complete the weekly clinical session skill check assignment. If the student would like to take any additional notes during a clinical session, they are encouraged to bring a folder, notepad, pen, pencil, or other materials to support the in-person learning experience.

Criminal History:
Criminal history may affect a student’s future ability to be hired in the dental field as every employer has different requirements. Accelerated Academy has the right to refuse enrollment due to criminal history.
